| HIGH ROAD Mixed use development in conservation area at the London Borough of Haringey. The project consists of 44 flats & houses and 7 commercial / community units. The Development is on the brownfield site on High Road.
It is a high density development achieving 560 HR/hectare.
The scheme is constructed using SIP panels, cladded externally with Wonder Wall brick, high performance render and zinc. The energy efficiency of the system has enabled the Contractor to omit the electrical sub station allowed in the scheme.
Ankur Architects inherited a scheme from other architects which had just achieved planning permission, subject to 106 agreement. It was not financially viable to build that scheme. Ankur Architects redesigned to improve access and daylight and raised the density by 42% to make the scheme financially viable.
The project was completed in November 2008.
Construction cost: 4.5m Client: London & Quadrant Housing Association
